Bloc Party Live in Manila! March 22, 2013

For the very first time ever, Bloc Party is coming to Manila to perform live! I’m beyond excited for this show. If you’re not familiar with their music, I suggest you click the videos above!

They’ve had a string of hits throughout the years including Banquet, Hunting for Witches, I Still Remember, This Modern Love, Helicopter, The Prayer, Flux, and So Here We Are. Following the success of numerous studio albums, singles, and remixes they are back with a new album entitled “Four” produced by Alex Newport.

I’m looking forward to hearing them live for the first time, and I’m liking the new stuff off of the recent release (particularly Truth and Octopus) I’m expecting to see a lot of long time fans and some new ones at the show to be awed and inspired to see one of the UK’s greatest bands perform here.

Hong Kong being an hour from Manila has made it a getaway of sorts when one wants a change of (city) scenery. Be it for shopping, time spent with your family, or just a weekend of dining and uninterrupted conversation.

Walking to get to where you’re going is also expected as opposed to taking a car to get everywhere. This in turn leaves room to explore and find interesting sights, scenes and perspectives you’d otherwise be unable to when being shuttled around town.

Like this little art gallery for instance, I would have shot more photos of the other works on display but I felt like I was stealing given the hour these pictures were taken.

When in doubt, order the specials. They aren’t called that for nothing.

This reminded me of a number of parties which had Cibo di M for their caterer.

There’s just something so beautifully simple about it.

Lamb was of course in the course.

I also got a few shirts measured, but since this was a more relaxed trip and I wasn’t really in work mode I wasn’t really looking to shoot “material” as much as taking the scenes in through the camera.

Still half asleep and off to the airport again. One must learn to enjoy their vacation, take it slow and not try to do 101 things and get stressed out. Just because you didn’t instagram it, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
