Rediscovering Fixed Gear | Photo Collection

It’s been a while since I expressed my love for the increasingly popular sport and culture we’ve come to know as fixed gear. It’s basically a bicycle that doesn’t coast, meaning if the wheels are spinning then so are you cranks. Some say it’s the purest form of cycling. I remember the labor of love the early adaptors had to go through sourcing their parts, scouring possible places that had track bicycle parts and sometimes even having to go to Quiapo and eventually Cainta to visit the Filipino master framemaker himself Ave Maldea.

Here’s a collection of photos I found on my hard drive and I hope they pique your interest into joining in the fray known as Manila Fixed Gear – FB Page.
