As my birthday is fast approaching, I decided to make a list of songs that could very well serve as a soundtrack for a tongue in cheek autobiographical, summer ending short film. These are some of my favorites that I hope you guys like.
“Hollywood” RAC feat. Penguin Prison
An upbeat track to snap your fingers to, the guys at RAC sure know what they’re doing. Sounds a little like Empire of the Sun.
“Take A Walk” by Passion Pit
The song literally want you to take a walk and contemplate life, or why you hadn’t listened to this artist yet.
“Paddling Out” by Miike Snow
Anthemic with a powerful chord driven melody, the Jacques Lu Cont remix of this really got the Coachella 2012 Sahara tent people more amped than they already were.
“I.D.G.A.F.O.S” by Dillon Francis
A melodic, playful take on the recent dubstep wave. Play this at a dance festival and watch everyone bust a move.
“Favorite Food” by Tokyo Police Club
A thoughtful track by the Tokyo Police club, slight existentialist angst but all in all a great song.
“Home” by LCD Soundsystem
A journey through the ins and outs of the “scene” as told by LCD Soundsystem. If LCD Soundsystem had a self help book, it would be entitled “The Recovering Hipster’s Handbook (Aging and how to deal with it)”
